Christopher Decarnin's Spring 2009 collection for Balmain was positively perfection on the rebel girl-wears-leather-with-studs-oh-but-sequins-too-and-still-looks-polished look. Quite simple, naturally. While spring 2009 has come and gone, the precedent has been set and the look continues.
Anywho, if your like me, and the other fashion-minded females of society, this collection was enough to send one running in the direction of the nearest trim store; I'll be damned if that bitch takes the last of the gold pyramid studs. So as I've been currently cuckoo ca-chu for this amazing look, I've realized it is quite easy to achieve minus the crazy pricetags. This summer I've already bleached some denim shorts, slashed some white jeans, and studded a zipper or two. This look is all about the balance of shredded with leather, bleach with sparkle, and skinny versus exaggerated, and with some creativity accessible at any price point.
If diy ain't your style, stores like topshop, forever 21 and shopbop have oodles of items influenced by this look, and its still going strong. I highly recommend visiting Shopbop's Rocker Style LookBook for a styled wonderland of the Balmain-esque craze. Now where did I put my bedazzler?
