There is nothing quite like white in the summertime. It makes
you feel cooler in the hot weather, it enhances a golden tan and it always look
chic. Know how you can wear all black in the winter and instantly look pulled
together? All white during the summer has the same effect.
After staying in on Friday night, we were up early on Saturday
morning. Which is the perfect time to hit up our favorite local bagel shop,
Tompkins Square Bagels, since all the rowdy East-Villagers have not yet awoken
for the day. The weather was perfect – sunny, not too hot and with a nice
breeze. It's days like this that make me want to be up early every weekend! We grabbed our coffee and bagel sandwiches to-go and headed to Tompkins Square Park
to eat. We
usually sit near the dog park when we go to TSP, picking out all the dog breeds we like
for someday in future when Boom can have an animal friend…
When adding some new white pieces to your wardrobe this
season, I suggest checking out some more affordable options before investing in
pricey ones. A crisp, clean, white cotton top can easily look more
expensive than it is. This outfit is pretty much the epitome of bargain style. I got this top a few years ago from Old Navy (I love Old
Navy) and these shorts maybe even longer ago from Target (I also love Target).
Both are perfect examples of affordable clothing that can still look stylish. The key is keeping an eye out for simple styles, natural fabrics (cotton, linen) and classic silhouettes. To
top off my budget look (I actually wasn't planning this as a 'budget look' it just happened that way), I threw on this panama hat that I got years ago from an
Acme Supermarket – yes, you read that right. I was at the beach, picking up
some groceries and this hat caught my eye. Talk about a good deal!
