Recommendations for Fall.

I know I've said some controlling, maybe verging on mean things since the existence of this blog, but I'm turning over a new leaf. I was gonna make this entry titled Must-Haves, but let's be honest, how many of us actually "need" new clothes. To call something a must-have is to believe one's life may be in danger without said piece, and well that's just silly. So here are my "recommendations" for this fall, what to get now to update your closet to look hip and with it, if you are in the market to shop, if not you'll survive. That is not to say such a feat cannot be accomplished without the following pieces, but these items may help. And if I see you wearing any of them, I will probably go bananas. I die.
Starting at the top left and working clockwise:

1. A leather jacket can work wonders in a wide range of outfits. With jeans to class, or my favorite, with a girly dress out at night, a leather jacket looks bad ass without being too motocross. While a real leather version is creme de la creme, you can still achieve the look at a lower price point. This option is from Forever 21, and is a steal at $34.80.

2. My drawer is actually overflowing as I type this with American Apparel v-necks, and that's because they are the best thing ever. They come in every color imaginable, fit well, and can be worn non-stop. An obvious choice for daytime, and style it up for night with glitzy jewelry and a high waisted skirt. I love this tri-blend black color at $22.00, its dark but still won't wash you out.

3. Florals work into fall with a dark background such as this dress. The bustier is always flattering even on small chests (cough), and who doesn't like sticking their hands into some side pockets? This dress can be found at Urban Outfitters on sale for $29.99.

4. A easy and cheap way to liven things up is with patterned stockings. The look was seen all over the runways, and can be found anywhere from Shopbop to Target. This pair is from Urban Outfitters for $14.00, and works with any little black dress in your closet.

5. Cutout booties are one of my favorite trends right now. Part bootie, part sandal, fully dominatrix. Try this pair on sale from Aldo ($79.98) with jeans and a loose tee for a casual, sexy look that isn't trying too hard.

6. A punchy bag is a great antidote for the fall leaves. This pink bag from Urban Outfitters is a perfect size to bring out at night, either held as a clutch or slung across the body with the chain strap, it's a great way to brighten up a dark look.

7. A gold menswear watch matches everything, is simple enough to wear everyday and can be layered with all kinds of metal bracelets. Get your own from Urban (where else) for $42.00.

8. A perfect jacket for class, this peacoat from J.Crew may be a little pricier than the rest of my items listed, but with it's classic shape and color, you can wear it forever, and with all your fall and winter stuff.

9. Chanel Jade Polish; amazing color, looks fresh for fall. This polish is only available in Chanel Boutiques (thanks jen), and worth the $23, but if you aren't too keen on that price tag, try the pale green by OPI to the get the look for cheap.

10. This gold cuff from Forever 21 has a great mix of nature elements with modern metals. Stack it with other bangles, at $5.80 is a super steal.

Try it all, or none. Whatever, there's my two cents.
