Napa has been on my list of places to visit for awhile now. When we first started planning this trip to Northern California there was no way we weren't going to make a Napa detour. I asked tons of friends for recommendations on where to eat, where to stay and most importantly which vineyards to visit before our visit. On the Monday morning of our trip we picked up our rented convertible and headed out of San Francisco to wine country.

Our first stop when we got to Napa was Boon Fly Cafe. After all the rave reviews we had gotten about this place we would have been crazy not to stop for brunch/lunch here. We got a round of the mini donuts to share and bloody mary's to start. Then split chocolate chip griddle cakes and the Boon Fly Benedict. This place most definitely lived up to the hype and I will be sure to make another brunch stop here next time I am in Napa! We heard it can get pretty crowded and wait lines can be long, however on a Monday around 11am we had no problems being seated right away.

Our first vineyard stop after filling up at Boon Fly was Domaine Carneros. It was a beautiful day, not humid at all, which was a great relief from the summer weather in New York City. We got a table outside and ordered tastings of Domaine Carneros' two specialties - pinot noir and sparking wine. The amazing views and grand entrance made for a perfect first stop to get us in the mood for a relaxing few days to come.

So-called 'party shirts' were Jeff's M.O. on this trip. This one is from Forever 21, which has a surprisingly good men's section. When looking for trendy menswear shirts like this one, fast-fashion is the way to go. A few similar shirts can be found here, here and here.

After Domaine Carneros we stopped by Artesa. This winery had a more modern, sleek feel and had amazing sweeping views. We got a few wines to taste and sat outside on their large patio overlooking the rolling hills below us. We hadn't heard of this place before but were pleasantly surprised when we decided to drop in. Worth a visit!

We stayed at the White House Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast within an old Victorian house, located in downtown Napa. From the moment we walked in I loved this place. The hotel has a sense of historic charm while also being decorated in the most adorable and chic way. Upon check-in we were told about the wine happy hour that takes place every evening by the pool. Not ones to pass up some al fresco drinks (hey, when in Napa right?), we brought our glasses and some small tapas out to enjoy the nice weather and beautiful hotel grounds.

That night we got dinner at Goose and Gander in St. Helena. It was a little bit of a trek from our hotel but the food and cocktails were amazing and totally worth the trip!
